SO SÁNH CỦA PHÓ TỪ LÀ GÌ?

• Giống như tính từ, các phó từ có dạng so sánh hơn và so sánh nhất

CÁC DẠNG CỦA SO SÁNH CỦA PHÓ TỪ:

1/ So sánh hơn được thành lập với MORE và so sánh nhất được thành lập với MOST

POSITIVE	COMPARATIVE	SUPERLATIVE
ably  quickly economically beautifully swiftly brightly easily carefully usually rarely	more ably  more quickly more economically more beautifully more swiftly more brightly more easily more carefully more usually more rarely	most ably  most quickly most economically most beautifully most swiftly most brightly most easily most carefully most usually most rarely

Ví dụ cụ thể :

• A thrush sings beautifully
• A lark sings more beautifully than a thrush (so sánh hơn)
• A nightingale sings the most beautifully of  all (so sánh nhất)

• A wolf runs swiftly
• A deer runs more swiftly than a wolf. (so sánh hơn)
• A cheetah runs the most swiftly of all/animals.(so sánh nhất)

2/ So sánh thêm ER và EST để thành lập so sánh hơn và so sánh nhất

POSITIVE	COMPARATIVE	SUPERLATIVE
early fast hard high late long low near soon	earlier faster harder higher later longer lower nearer sooner	earliest fastest hardest highest latest longest lowest nearest soonest

Ví dụ cụ thể :

• A bike travels fast
• A car travels much faster than a bike(so sánh hơn)
• A train travels the fastest of the three(so sánh nhất)

• John tried hard
• Peter tried harder than John. (so sánh hơn)
• James tried the hardest of oil (so sánh nhất)

3/ Trường hợp BẤT QUI TẮC :

POSITIVE	COMPARATIVE	SUPERLATIVE
badly far little much well	worse farther (or further) less more better	worst farthest (or furthest) least most best

Ví dụ cụ thể :

• You did well in the test
• Maggie did better than you (so sánh hơn)
• But Diana did best (so sánh nhất)

• The first performance of the play went badly
• The second performance went worse than the first (so sánh hơn)
• The third performance went the worst of all. (so sánh nhất)

• We didn’t cycle very far on our first day
• We cycled further (or farther) on our second day (so sánh hơn)
• We cycled furthest (or fathest) on the last day( so sánh nhất)

• Cats don’t much like swimming
• Ducks enjoy it more than cats (so sánh hơn)
• Fish like it most of  all (so sánh nhất)

• I’m afraid your spelling has improved very little
• Your English has improved even less (so sánh hơn)
• Your mathematic has improved least of all (so sánh nhất)

4/ So sánh theo CẤU TRÚC :

• As…as :
• Ví dụ : Alice sings as sweetly as her sister
• Not as/so…as :
• Ví dụ  :I can’t swim as/so well as you (can)
• …than :
• Ví dụ  :The train travelled more quickly than I expected
• The…the…:
• Ví dụ  :The faster I type, the more mistakes I make
• …and…:
• Ví dụ  :It rained more and more heavily
